2025 Winter Symposium

The Antiochian House of Studies Orthodox Academic Society will be holding its Winter Symposium themed The Theology and Canons of the First Ecumincal Council at Nicea on January 25th, 2025, via Zoom. 

OAS symposia offer AHOS graduate students a chance to present their academic work to the wider AHOS community. The symposium will run 3.5 hours and consist of 15 minute summary presentations of student papers followed by 10 minute question and answer sessions.  

All AHOS students, alumni, faculty and staff are encouraged to register for free OAS membership. Members will be sent a link to the symposium and have the privilege of participating in the question and answer sessions.

Paper Submission deadline: December 10th Graduate students enrolled in the MTS, MPCC, MDiv, DMin or PhD programs are welcome to submit papers for consideration. All papers from an Orthodox perspective will be considered, though papers aligned with the conference theme will be given preference.

With the blessings of His Eminence Metropolitan Saba and with the overall purpose of fostering vibrant theological discourse among AHOS students, faculty, alumni, and scholars at-large whose research and interests are aligned with the Orthodox Christian Tradition,  Fr.Michel Najim and Fr.Fadi Rabbat are pleased to announce the fourth symposium of the Orthodox Academic Society (OAS), to be held via Zoom on Saturday, Jan 25, 2025.

Who is eligible to submit a paper:

All AHOS graduated students and alumni who have been enrolled in the MTS, MDiv, PhD, MPCC and DMin programs are welcome to submit a paper for consideration for presentation at the symposium.

Technical Steps:

In Order to submit your paper, you should create an account and login from Login/Register page; Then you can  for the symposium.

After you successfully submit your paper, you will receive a confirmation Email, and you will be notified of our decision.

All AHOS students, faculty and staff who are OAS members and their guests are welcome to attend the symposium.
